Dr. Thomas N. Collins, DACBOH


Education

"My practice is primarily limited to the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. My goal is to help every patient to break free of his or her pain cycle as quickly as possible. My focus of care is on the strength, balance and flexibility of your body, not only reduce pain but to prevent pain from returning in the future.

I emphasize a functional, common sense approach to exercise rehabilitation, and I encourage patient self-reliance. I want you to be in control of your life and body, never to fear pain."

Dr. Collins graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in April of 1982. He is board certified Chiropractic and Occupational Health and Safety. He is a certified Golf Fitness Specialist, and has completed post-graduate course work in Exercise Rehabilitation, treatment of Whiplash Injuries, TMJ injuries, treatment of Chronic Neck and Low Back Pain, Orthopedics, Sports Physician training, and is certified in Acupuncture.

Dr. Collins has participated in chiropractic research studies, developed safety and training programs for the prevention of Cumulative Trauma Disorders. He was a Teaching Clinician at the National College of Chiropractic and has presented lectures to the Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Collins is a chiropractic consultant to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and has been a consultant to several attorneys groups concerning the chiropractic treatment of work and automobile related injuries. He is qualified to provide ergonomic evaluations and work site job task analysis. He has developed employee safety and education programs, cost containment strategies, employee relation policy development, and pre-placement physical examinations as well as post-injury care.
